This is what I would call a "working copy," recorded Live to DAT here in Denison Dance with the sweet 1927 Steinway baby grand that I regularly play for the dance classes.
This is an archival recording made at Al Gould's living room/ studio in New Hampshire in 1984
Yes it sounds like the eighties - because it WAS the eighties! But I really enjoyed the chance to overdub my own voice, and to multitrack in the sequencer up to EXACTLY the point where the Korg's internal memory would be one millisecond short of Full (ah, an art unto itself).
If you have any curiosity about chords or tunings (I use some of the once-unusual Joni-Mitchell tunings, and the best compliment I've ever gotten so far in my guitar-playing life was when the late great multi-tuning guitar guru Michael Hedges publicly praised my guitar playing at Sunfest one summer long ago when we both were booked there), or if you have questions about the piano style, please just e-mail me at piersonk@denison.edu. In my ideal imaginary universe, EVERYbody sings and plays guitar and plays piano and writes music, so if you are personally involved in any of that, well I would just love to hear from you.
